In den Faschingsferien haben wir schon in San Remo trainiert und danach an einer Regatta in diesem super Revier teilgenommen. Am besten finde ich die vielen Trainings am Gardasee und am Meer. So bin ich ganz selbstverständlich mit dem Segeln als Freizeitspaß aber auch als Sport älter geworden.

Menschen im Club

Ich finde, daß solche Topsegler wie der Wolfi Rappel und der Burschi Haist immer noch so begeistert segeln, das sind doch echte Vorbilder!! Wir segeln Ende August in Hornbaek Dänemark den Drachen Goldcup mit mindestens 80 Teilnehmern! Da halte ich es mit dem Nikki Lauda – lieber im Kreis segeln und abends an die Bar! Na klar, der Drachen, ich finde allerdings den Laser und das Starboot (ist mein Vater gesegelt) super, interessant finde ich die Entwicklung der J70! Das gilt sowohl für den Regattasport als auch für das „Herumsegeln“ auf unserem See.

Tourstart am Bahnhof Doberlug-Kirchhain

Unter anderem segelt er mit Basti Gastl auf einer Melges24 zahlreiche internationale Rennen, aber auch auf anderen Schiffen lässt er sich gerne zum Regattasegeln überzeugen. Kieler Wochen, Nordsee Woche, Helgoland, viel im Mittelmeer. Sehr viel, aber schon länger her.
Dazu Videos und Bildaufnahmen der vier Ausgaben dieser einzigartigen Veranstaltung, die das LCB seit vier Jahren immer zum Herbstanfang am Wannsee organisiert. Neben den ausgestellten Originalen gab es auch eine gemütliche Leseecke mit Ansichtsexemplaren der nachbearbeiten Comics als Hefte, Zines und Bücher. Ich unterstütze seither Museen, Kultureinrichtungen und Universitäten sowie Künstlerinnen und Künstler, deren Arbeit ich schätze.

Ich war 13 Jahre alt, als ich in meiner letzten Opti Saison die EM/WM-Ausscheidung vor Warnemünde segeln durfte. Klar, ich wollte auch dort segeln. In unserem kleinen Segelclub in Griechenland, wir leben im Sommer einige Wochen auf der Insel Milos, machte ich meine ersten Erfahrungen auf dem Meer. Seine Freundin, die Fotografin und Kommunikationsdesignerin Hanna, unterstützt ihn bei dem anstrengenden Spagat zwischen Beruf, aktiven Regattasegeln und diversen Ehrenämtern. Segeln soll schließlich allen Spaß machen – nicht jeder muss deshalb gleich erfolgreich Regattasegeln. Jollensegeln ist nicht mehr meins.

Start- und Endbahnhof

Mein Vater wurde in seiner Jugend einmal Deutscher Meister bei den 470ern und da war ihm glaube ich schon klar, dass seine Kinder auch um die Wette segeln sollten. Mit vier Jahren bei meinem Opa Fritz auf dem Bodensee. Die Clubmitglieder, ob alt und jung, feiern und segeln zusammen. Wir sind ein bisschen seelenverwandt.
Die habe ich für meine seglerischen Ansprüche schon mit der WM am Gardasee erreicht. Diese Events sind echt super und machen viel Spaß. Platz 420er WM Gardasee 2009, Gold Fleet 420er WM in Athen 2008…. Der Umstieg in den 420er durch den BYC, dem hervorragenden Trainer Ilja und der tollen Trainingsgruppe ermöglichte mir eine lehrreiche, spaßige und erfolgreiche Segelzeit. Das Skiff segeln hat mir schon immer sehr viel Spaß gemacht.
Wir sind gemeinsam an den Ammersee gefahren und haben dort einen 20er Jollenkreuzer gemietet. Gemeinsam segeln wir sehr gerne auf dem L-Boot am Starnberger See. Ich habe im Alter von 8 Jahren auf dem Biggesee im Sauerland mit dem Segeln begonnen. Die Deutsche Segel-Bundesliga, das AUDI Sailing Team Germany und einige der großen Segelclubs im Norden und im Süden. Der Zusammenhalt untereinander ist super und dass die Großen uns so gut unterstützen. Die Trainings mit den Opti-Trainern Fabi, Roman, Felix, Julian, Philipp (Authenrieths) und George waren auch immer super.
Dann segeln wir auch schon mal die Mittwochsregatten mit. Die, mit denen ich gern segeln würde, haben keine Zeit und nicht die richtigen Führerscheine. Wir denken taktisch anders, wir bereiten uns anders vor, wir segeln systematischer…. Lina und Henri segeln bereits sehr erfolgreich im 420er und Opti. Papa Andi, 53, segelt mit der ganzen Familie oder er kümmert sich zusammen mit seiner Frau Petra um die segelnden Kinder Lina (14), Henri (9). Zusätzlich ist jeden Abend eine Veranstaltung geplant und wir wollen auch die nicht Starboot segelnden Mitglieder einbeziehen.

Es sind einfach kraftstrotzende, schwere Regattamaschinen, tief und nass segelnd, mit niedrigem Freibord, schwer zu bedienen und personalintensiv. Beim RVYC in Vancouver, beim St. Francis Yacht Club/San Francisco, beim KSSS in Schweden, dem Mitgliedsclub in Helsinki, im VSaW. Dies insbesondere, weil ich in einer ganzen Reihe der ICOYC-Mitgliedsclubs schon auf Welt- und Europameisterschaften selbst gesegelt bin, z.B. So berichtete byc.de über Thomas Kuhmann….

Seit der JEM am Gardasee 2017 segel ich mit Jonas Royla aus Düsseldorf. Später dann der Münchner Yachtclub und seit dem 420er der Bayerische Yacht-Club, North Sails und Oakley. Erst mit zehn Jahren habe ich mit dem Optisegeln angefangen. Papa Oli ist stark in der Jugendarbeit des Münchner Yachtclub tätig, Mamma Petra bleibt lieber im als auf dem Wasser. 2015 wechselte er vom Münchner Yachtclub in die Jugend- und Juniorenabteilung des Bayerischen Yacht-Club. Meldet euch bei mir, wenn ihr Lust habt, mehr zu segeln und als eigenes Team zusammen mit anderen JJA Mitgliedern zu segeln.
Die Jugendarbeit ist im Bayerischen Yacht-Club im Vergleich zu vielen anderen Segelclubs, die ich bisher kennengelernt habe, sehr ausgeprägt. Das war eine ganz neue Erfahrung – nachts segeln, auf einem Boot rund um die Uhr, kochen, schlafen, duschen. Dabei war das erste Ziel von der richtigen Seite aus und innerhalb des Zeitlimits die Startlinie zu passieren, gefolgt vom Ziel https://www.lolo.casino/ bis zur Tonne 1 zu segeln.
Ich wusste, ich kann schneller segeln als andere, aber ich hatte keine Ahnung vom Kurs. Der BYC ist einer der traditionsreichsten, zugleich aber auch modernsten und innovativsten Segelclubs Deutschlands und weit darüber hinaus. Bei meinem Vater durfte ich sofort im ersten Jahr auf seiner Jeton (ein ähnliches Schiff wie ein 470er) mitsegeln. Seine Schwester Stefanie, die 2016 als 1000stes Mitglied in den BYC eintrat, ließ sich von ihm und seinem segelnden Freundeskreis anwerben.
Die Inneneinrichtung ist eine Mischung aus modernem Nachtclub und edler Holzoptik. Familienausflug zu zwei Freilichtmuseen in Torgelow A-Schein mit Motorboot-Schein habe ich später am Ammersee gemacht. Ein super Regattaformat ist die neue Segel-Bundesliga. Meine Mädels lernten auf diesen Booten erfolgreich Regatta segeln.

Moritz und Ida segeln, was am Wichtigsten ist, mit viel Spaß und ich denke auch einigermaßen erfolgreich. Ehrgeiz im Sinne von Regattasegeln kommt dann bei den Kindern und den Eltern vielleicht irgendwann von alleine. Die haben das dort super gemacht und hatten einen riesigen Spaß dabei. Mit 32 Optis und drei Motorbooten zum Sommertraining am Gardasee.

Wir segeln seit sechs Jahren 49er. Welchen Stellenwert hat die IDM, wenn ihr gerade den World Cup in Japan hinter euch und die WM in Neuseeland vor euch habt? Sie segeln Regatten, helfen als Wettfahrtleiter, Schiedsrichter, S-Bootfahren, sind Jugendtrainer oder engagieren sich ehrenamtlich im Verein. Ich habe den Trainerschein für Jollen gemacht und einen Segelschein für´s Hochseeesegeln. Zunächst waren wir mit dem 49er noch im Segel- und Ruderclub Simssee. Lake Almanor ist ein Stausee, max. Die Hitze der Lava schmolz die Schneedecke und zerstörte den tiefen Kratersee am Gipfel. Der Besitzer erkennt uns wieder und wir sind alle mit dem super Frühstück zufrieden.
Als nächstes fahre ich mit meinem Vater die DM der H-Boote auf dem Chiemsee mit. Deshalb ist das ein super Erfolg. Eine Nachbarin aus Prutting in der Nähe von Rosenheim hat mich mit an den Simsee genommen. Meine Eltern sind Mitglieder im Chiemsee Yacht Club. Und dann immer wieder der Gardasee.
